Ryhythm By Nature has been offering an engaging musical outlet for students so far this January and will continue into February using hands-on drumming activities and games. Students are guided through a series of collaborative excercises that promote communication, cooperation, creativity and a powerful sense of expression. Moose Hide Campaign
Classes participated in the Moose Hide Campaign on Thursday, May 12.
The Moose Hide Campaign is a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys who are standing up against violence towards men and children. Students were provided with moosehide pins and given the option to wear them to signify their commitment and support.

Columbia Valley Art From The Heart
Columbia Valley Arts is hosting another exciting year of Art from the Heart. On Wednesday, May 18, representatives from CV Arts came to host a clay tile workshop. Students were provided with clay kits that included clay, tools and glazes and they were given instruction on how to create a tile of their choice. The tiles will now go to the kiln for firing and they will get glaze for finishing them off. They will be put on display in the near future - stay tuned for the viewing date.
NHL Speaker - Jason Simon
Former NHL Player, Jason Simon, came to speak with the Intermediate Classes on Wednesday, May 18.
Jason Simon Simon played in 5 NHL games for the Phoenix Coyotes and New York Islanders between 1994 and 1996. The rest of his career (1989 to 2009) was spent in various minor leagues.
For the past several years, Simon has been travelling around North America as a motivational speaker. He especially enjoys visiting Indigenous communities where he thrives on talking to students about his own successes and struggles as well as the importance of physical and mental well-being.
Appreciation Lunch
A complimentary lunch was provided on behalf of the Indigenous Program this Thursday, May 5th consisting of Buffalo Stew and Bannock (Fry Bread) to show appreciation and to express gratitude to all Edgewater staff, students and families for supporting, learning and understanding about the Indigenous peoples and the school program.
Wildsight Visit - Kindergarten Class
The Kindergarten students were able to continue on their exploration of the seasons with Wildsight on Tuesday April 19th. The class went outside for this learning session to create a sound map of spring and to find a bud buddy to visit again later in the month to see if it has bloomed into a flower or a leaf.
