Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Each year as part of a continuous improvement cycle, Rocky Mountain School District develops an operational plan that outlines the goals and strategies that will be the focus of the work for the upcoming year. This plan is guided by the current 4-year strategic plan using a variety of sources of student data as the foundation for decision making the district and individual schools develop plans that identify targets for improving student learning. These plans are linked to the British Columbia Ministry of Education and Child Care’s Framework for Enhancing Student Learning legislation and reporting policy.

BIKE RODEO

May 1, 2024

8:30-9:50 am

Edgewater Elementary School, in partnership with their Parent Advisory Council (PAC), is hosting a ‘Bike Rodeo’.  The rodeo is for Primary (K-3) students to understand and be familiar with the rules of the road. There will be a track/course set up to review safety rules for the Primary classes.  There will also be an opportunity to have the students’ bikes and helmets checked over and tweaked if necessary. Intermediate students (Gr 4-7) are welcome to bring their bikes and helmets to have them inspected. The RCMP will be on hand to run students through the course; safety instruction and bike track.  We have a certified bike mechanic that will be on hand to check bikes and volunteers will check/adjust helmets.

We will need a few volunteers to help organize and assist with the event. Please contact the school if you have time to volunteer.

Tentative Schedule

8:15 -8:30                    Gr K-1  bikes start to be checked

8:30-9:10                     Gr K-1  students participate in ‘Bike Rodeo’

8:45-9:10                     Gr 2-3 bikes start to be checked

9:10-9:50                     Gr 2-3 students participate in ‘Bike Rodeo’

*Intermediate Bikes can be checked/adjusted/minor repairs once we have had all primary bikes go through.
